Travis Johnson, age 19, of Hartford, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Nov. 3, by members of the US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and Hartford detectives.
According to Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police, Johnson was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The murder of Bautista, age 17, took place around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, Boisvert said.
When police arrived on the scene they found a vehicle stopped in the roadway in front of 158 Martin Street with Bautista dead inside, police said.
As a result of the investigation, probable cause was developed to charge Johnson with the murder, Boisvert said.
An arrest warrant was drafted and approved by a judge of the superior court.
Bautista, who performed under the name YNT Juan, was a popular area rapper with tens of thousands of followers online.
Johnson is being held on a $2 million dollar bond.
